Such a beautiful question, and I might offend some people with my answer, but this question is asked about my personal experience so I would answer them according to my own experience with Shiva. Salutations to all answers, answerers, religion, culture and the readers.

When I first looked for Shiva, Shiva asked me to do something, he said don`t simply follow but question everything. So most of the things I know about Shiva started from questioning Him Himself. See the word Hindu is simply a term to name the culture we came from. It is not a religion because It has no founder. This gives you the liberty to find Shiva through any way you want. You can find Shiva through spirituality, science, biology, cosmology, health, food, art, dance, spiritual sex, family etc. It all depends from which view point you can understand Shiva the best. And anyway you view Shiva is not wrong at all.

I personally wanted to read the Veda but Shiva never let me, he said if I were to simply read and follow then I would decrease the chances of me experiencing truths. So when you experience truths then this truths becomes your own experience and you can lead your life with your very own understandings. Even when you make your mistakes with your very own understanding then you can find Shiva there too. If your path of your life is directed to Shiva then even mistakes can be blissful too

Shiva told me something too, he said only agree with anything if your heart totally agree`s with it. Shiva says contradicting with your very own Self can never bring you far. So there are so many things I disagree with in within Hinduism too. Shiva told me most of the doctrine within Hinduism was this way in the past because the situation then has made a necessity for it to be so.

Shiva says Om evolves to seek bliss and there is no reason to trap IT in a book or a philosophy. Shiva says Om vibrates to seek IT`s very own true nature and IT`s true nature is bliss or nirvana. Shiva says when you find your very own OM then many things for your very own life will be taught by IT. Shiva says IT does not care the religion you are from, Shiva says IT does not care what your gender is, Shiva says IT does not care what philosophy your mind perceive IT as, Shiva says IT works only to find you happiness and peace, Shiva says IT works only to connect you to the people around you regardless of their race or religion.

Shiva says IT evolves through out time and space, Shiva says if you want to catch IT then catch IT in the light form IT IS.

Agree with what your heart agree`s

I agree with every Shiva ( truths ) that I see and agree with in my heart regardless of culture, religion or race they come from.

Salutations to every answer, answerers, readers. Om Nama Shivaya

Whether it is Hindu philosophy or any other philosophy - peace is the moksha of human life.

Hinduism if it is as you say is based on the realisation of peace as the goal of human life- there can be no two opinions about it. But the religion advocates so many conditions and norms which are based on beliefs and which are- left to the individuals to believe such conditions and norms or not.

But attaining peace of mind is the greatest bliss for a human. It is the state of tranquility of mind when you are neither happy nor unhappy - neither satisfied nor unsatisfied- neither worried nor free from worries- and in short- the state when both the positive and negative sides of human life remain equal and bring about an experience - called PEACE-free from environmental influence .

That remains only as an imagination for 99.999999% of humans but there are people on earth in such state – they are the babies found asleep- or those who are in coma – apart from these exceptions- there may be a few here and there quite contended with what they have- not worrying about anything that happens around them.

All others like us – should accept the reality- peace is beyond our reach with our present day life style and 99.99999% feels that it is not worth wasting the present day life to get peace of mind-because they have learnt to live without the peace of mind.

Hindu philosophy is the best philosophy. But you will see every religion in the world has a good philosophy.Almost all sincerely follow it,but few people for their own benefit disturb all and we loose peace. So we should strongly fight against them and try to maintain the peace

Metaphysics means the philosophy of the nature of the universe, existence, and creation. Interpreting Eastern Metaphysics/ontology in Western terms is difficult. Hinduism is also very broad... but I assume we're talking about Early Vedantic Hindusim -- that is the type with the most interesting Metaphysics and the most studied. Here's a quick overview of those views. 1. Vedantic Hinduism - The physical world is an illusion, a dream. Individuality is also an illusion. God (Brahman) is everything and in everything, or everything is God's dream. We have just all forgotten we were God dreaming (Atman). Kind of like The Matrix -- but everybody (Neo, Morpheus, Trinity, even the Agents) are all really the same person. 2. Buddhism - Was influenced by Hinduism. The physical world is an illusion but there is a stronger sense of self, you have your own soul. The physical world is the location of suffering and desire, which stand in the way of Truth. This is very ascetic -- it rejects the physical world and the physical body. True existence is only in immaterial Nirvana, which the individual can achieve only through cultivating themselves and completely rejecting desire for the physical world. 3. Platonism - Also believes the physical world is an imperfect illusion. True existence is in a 2nd universe, the immaterial World of the Forms. All things in the physical world (and concepts such as Goodness and Justice) are just an imperfect shadow of a true perfect Form which exists in the World of the Forms. For example, there are chairs in our world which we see. The essence which all chairs share, Chairness, exists as the Form Chairness in this 2nd world. Real chairs are subject to change, decay, and imperfection but the Form Chairness is always perfect and knowable. We only have access to this real 2nd World through our rational faculty our mind/soul -- the part of us that is immaterial. So, we exist is rational beings. Truth is only "recollected" by our connection to the World of the Forms. All three views favour the soul/mind over the physical body and place True existence outside of the material world. Things exist as immaterial ideas instead of physical objects, so these views are called different types of early Idealism.

I am very impressed by the 'mystical' side of all religions ( including Hinduism) rather than the fundamentalism in each of them. The realization of the state of peace, is what the Christian religion calls it the Kingdom God or The Kingdom of Heaven. Which is IN every human being. The realization of that The Kingdom is within, will lead to Peace. God is all in ALL. All religions have more in commen than differences. Christ is all, and in all. If Christ is everything, then everything is the Door. [John 10:9] Everything leads to God. Truth and Life are in everything. All things work together for the good bringing us to God. Since there are no exceptions, this is absolutely inclusive. Christ is all in all. All things are united in this one body, bringing us to God.

Every person born is a HINDU. They are then

    Christened

    Muslim

    etc.

Hindu is the mother of all religion. It is the the peace within and without both together. Primarily it is peace within - if it prevails then without will also prevail.

Pretty words. The world and life isn't as pretty. Inner peace is important, but that isn't the goal of human life. The goal is to prepare for death.

The problem with Hinduism is idol worship and believing in very strange looking gods and goddesses. If Hinduism can someday get rid of its idols, gods and goddesses, and focus instead on One God, the philosophy itself may have some possibilities. [Sorry, didn't mean to be critical].

Strongly agree. Hinduism is a beautiful religion. Very peaceful and strongly held and believed in by so many.
