Do we pay our Elected officials to agree or disagree?

Update:

could most of you answer the question without a bias or slant? Agree or Disagree. I don't care who it is or what they believe. Its a very simple question.

    Disagree, they pay themselves with our tax dollars which we must pay under the penalty of incarceration enforced through the IRS.

    They get paid to sometimes agree and to sometimes disagree.
