how good is a score of 88 on the asvab?

i am a senior in college majoring in political science. i have a 2.9 gpa, and am pretty much out of savings for tuition. i work full time and am an independent, but do not qualify for any financial aid. so i thought i would maybe go do wn and take the ASVAB to see how i could do, and see about if serving would help me pay for school. my recruiter called me today and just told me that i scored an 88, and wanted me to set up an appointment with the head recruiter in Houston ( i live in Beaumont, about 100 miles away). is an 88 a good score? will it be worthwhile to go meet with the head recruiter in houston?

88 was very good. I would see if there is a program that you could get into where they will pay for your schooling and when you are finished you join as an officer. Good luck.

Yes, that is a good score. Well above average.

Worth it? Well, it's on the government's dime, so you'll lose nothing.

Make sure to talk to him about OCS, which is an officer commissioning program.
