Abortion is a sin because it's the murder of a human being. And everyone knows it, deep down inside. We all agree that abortion for the purpose of eugenics is wrong--and yet if there were gene therapy that could change a person's eye color or hair color while still in the womb, we wouldn't think *that* wrong. So it's not eugenics itself that's wrong; it's killing to accomplish it. And abortion counts as killing. The mother's right to choose ends at the baby's right to life.
If a man gets beaten up and robbed, should an innocent stranger be required to pay him back the money he lost? If not, how is it fair to make an innocent baby pay the price for the actions of a full-grown man?
Edit: As for arbitrary definitions of human, the burden of proof falls on the person claiming the fetus is not human, because they're the ones who will cause more damage if they're wrong. Therefore you can't just make up a definition; you have to provide evidence as to why a fetus shouldn't be considered human at that stage.
A collection of cells is human at the point where, if no deliberate action was taken, it would develop into an adult. Deliberate action (on the part of one person or another) must be taken to fertilize the egg; therefore the egg is not human. Once the egg is fertilized, however, if the mother simply goes about her ordinary life, it will develop into a fetus and eventually be born as a baby. Deliberate action must be taken to end its life; and, according to the atheists' vaunted Richard Dawkins, deliberate action is the key to whether an action is moral or immoral.

As a pro-choice person and an adopted person I have a problem with everything you just said. Is the baby who will be born because of rape any less valuable then a baby born under any other circumstance? When people only support abortion because of rape or incest that is certainly what is being implied.
Adoption is not a cure all for abortion, they are two separate matters. It is no ones job to supply a child for someone who can not conceive. Adoption is not always a happy situation, there are biological mothers who suffer their entire life because of the loss they have suffered, some may have dealt better with an abortion. There are adopted children who suffer their entire life because they feel abandoned, or an outcast in their adoptive families. They spend their lives wondering the circumstances of their birth and why they were not wanted. Adoptive homes can be abusive, neglectful or a host of other things. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, take a trip to the adoption section and you will see that there are people there who wish they were aborted instead of adopted.
Abortion and adoption is not a black and white situation, women who find themselves making either of these decisions have different needs, beliefs, desires, circumstances and capabilities and it is not up for anyone to choose what is best but them.

I think abortion should be legal every where and every woman should have access to a good abortion clinic/hospital which can successfully perform the abortion. Every woman should have the right to choose what they do with their body and their unborn child.
However I am pro life. Abortions have been happening since the beginning of time. People are still going to do them whether it is legal or not. So it is better that it is done in a safe, medical environment by a professional. So many women have died from home abortions.
Two lives are better then one, but one life is better then none.
I don't think abortion is ok, even when the pregnancy is a result of rape, but every woman should be able to have a safe abortion if they want one.

31% of rape victims develop post-traumatic stress disorder, a mental disorder wherein triggering events cause flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts about the original event. For example- a gunshot victim might hear a car backfire and essentially experience the horrors of the event all over again.
For a rape victim, those 9 months will potentially be psychologically devastating- her changing body and growing belly will be constant, unavoidable reminders of what happened, and possibly triggering. Prenatal exams that involve getting undressed, being naked, and being touched in intimate places, may all send her reeling back to the memory of her rape. Being approached by well-meaning strangers who assume that her pregnancy is a wanted one about whose conception was a joyful experience, may send her into a depressive tailspin as she is forced either to recount her situation or to make up a happy lie.
Rape traumatizes because it takes away control and leaves you vulnerable and helpless; it literally takes away your right to decide what happens to your body. Forcing a woman to continue a pregnancy does precisely the same thing; if this happens to a woman, the person or entity forcing her to remain pregnant is, in my eyes, just as guilty as the rapist in its violation of her.
If a woman voluntarily chooses to continue a pregnancy that resulted from rape, that is her right, and I think she should be showered with love, support, and have continuous access to mental healthcare for her well-being. But the choice should always remain with the woman, and she should never, ever, ever be shamed for choosing abortion- to say that it is selfish or wrong is to say that her psychological well-being is of no importance.
Also, I think it's important to address the "or she could carry the baby full term and give it up for adoption because theres other women out there want a baby but cant have one." statement: no fertile woman is or ought be beholden to another woman who is unhappily infertile.

actually no longer! the girl could be 12 years old and pregnant, and it does no longer additionally be her fault reason she grow to be raped. if she keeps the toddler she would be able to no longer have the means to develop it suitable and he or she'll wreck her young little ones/teenage adventure. if she provides the toddler up for adoption all of us's nonetheless going to be conscious of she's pregnant thinking she's s-l-u-t because of the fact needless to say she's unlikely to around telling all of us she have been given raped.. so certainly remarkable and in my eyes the only option is going with the aid of with an abortion. oh, & what if it grow to be her dad or yet another relative that raped her, the toddler could finally end up with beginning defects from inbreeding. people could desire to get actual. whilst the toddler is a fetus, it relatively is not quite a residing human yet. abortion is okay and it relatively is not quite doing something incorrect. basically, conserving the toddler on occasion is what's relatively incorrect.. if the toddler grows up with a crap existence because of the fact her/his 12 365 days old mom can no longer develop her/him suitable.

In my opinion, it is not a sin.
To some people it is the worst thing they have ever heard of, which is absurd.
If a girl is raped, or can't handle the pregnancy, by god she should be able to get an abortion.
Now i do not think that people just be getting them left and right, i mean come on people, learn safe sex.

She could have the child and let someone adopt him or her.
Aborting the baby is murdering the innocent child who does not deserve such abuse. Why should the innocent child be punished with the death sentence? The child did not do anything wrong!!!
It is the rapist that should be punished; not the innocent child!!
---EDIT:---
>A person is not a human until they can exist (live)
>without any other specific human, directly.
By this alleged "definition" of "a person" or "human", the elderly that cannot care for themselves then are no longer human, and it is perfectly OK to murder the elderly.
To say that a human baby is not human because it cannot care for itself is just utterly ridiculous! If it is not human, then what is it, a dog?!
Of course the unborn child is human!
The decaying morality of society is very disturbing!

In most cases when the girl aborts after rape or for any reason she suffers guilt for the rest of her life.
Its not fair but don't make a bad situation worse.

A person is not a human until they can exist (live) without any other specific human, directly. EX: a 9 month old fetus may be able to live outside of the womb so it is a human. a 5 month old baby cannot so it is not a human, etc. A baby may need a parent to exist but they do not need any "specific" parent.
Source(s): definition of a human.
