you do not enter into this game with him, you tell him no in a low serious command voice, then if need be you point too the floor and tell him too get down, and as long as there is contact between the two you do not move other then say down, if he turns away and ignores you instead of giving in and going down, then you move over and lead it down too the floor by grabing the collar, making him get up and safely jump down from the coutch
and you keep this up never allowing him too get into the coutch
once he is on the floor you go back too what you were doing, so he do not start too use this too get your attention, then after a while break that up and give him attention while he behaves
now if he do go down on his own without you having too remove him, you tell him good boy and give him a pat on the head or such

First of all, don't beat your dog off the couch. When he gets on the couch, tell him no and make him get down.

whenever he sits on the couch lift him off and say no in a stern voice. When he sits at you're feet or not on the couch give him a treat.

remove him is actually easy take him outside for like some mins bring him in if he does it again take him out and plus many dogs jump on the couch if you give them the best attention there so it be good if you give them attention on the floor etc.

Google NILIF training and small dog syndrome. Implement fully. Learn the value of mouse traps and upside-down carpet runners.
I see what you did there.
