Why is Charles and Diana's Wedding being shown as a romantic item on ITV tonight?

Completely agree, it must be take our minds off something else.

Charles was (I suspect) 'told' by his parents to 'get married' and supply an 'heir and a spare' - and Diana was deemed to be 'the right person' at the time - no matter PC may not have wanted to marry her - he being quite happy with Camilla.

There is 'no way in the world' their courtship/marriage was a romantic story-book adventure - when (as you say) PC was seeing Camilla all the time.!!

The reason for this 'sham' TV documentary people can only guess at.

Still it will 'feed' these royal followers interests I suppose.

It still happened and it was a nation in hope and awe. A memory for a lot of people who adored the couple no matter what. Like a lot has on Catherine and William's wedding. It was 30 years ago Diana and Charles were married so perhaps a good reminder of what we all hope is not going to go down hill...

It was actually very moving at the time because we didn't know what was going on behind the scenes.

The fact that I went to Red Ken's alternative wedding entertainment day which was an Ian Dury concert at Crystal Palace where everyone got wrecked is not a sign that I personally wasn't too impressed by the Royal Wedding at all :-)

Whatever people say, I feel sorry for Charles, he had to marry the brood mare that he was told to ! It all backfired due to the mental problems of the Spenser family due to inbreeding !
