Can I have a piano and an aquarium?

I live in a fairly large house and my piano is upstairs, but we want to have a big fish tank right at the bottom of the stairs. Would this interfere with the piano in some way?

Update:

And will the moisture from the fish tank mess with the wood in the piano?

No. Not at all. One is upstairs and one is downstairs.

And even if the aquarium was 2 feet away from the piano, it would not do anything.

What were you thinking would happen?

EDIT: No the moisture will not effect it at all. You are OK, And the aquarium needs to have a hood anyway.

yes. fish are one of the natural predators of the piano. as soon as night falls the fish will jump out of the aquarium and try to kill the piano. the fish and the piano must be kept at least five hundred feet away from each other at all times. the piano will also pull out it's cell phone during the day and call it's piano friends for nighttime backup and assistance. by morning there will be dead fish and water and broken piano bits everywhere. i don not recommend putting the two in the same house.

Source(s): i'm only kidding. a small tank could sit on top of the piano and still not affect it.

Have an aquarium and a piano has nothing to do with eachother in any way shape or form! You can have a piano right beside an aquarium and still be fine.

Err... nope. I have pretty much the same setup... The fish don`t mind the piano at all, and the piano isn`t effected by the fish.

As long as you keep the humidity right. It's pretty hard to mess up. I'm a fish/piano lover too :DD I think I keep mine around 45-60%? I'm not sure. But it's fine. :)

don't put the tank on top of the piano, that's real bad. otherwise you're ok.
