Good for you for waiting until the puppy is 8 weeks old. It's for the best.

Second, there's no reason not to start a raw diet now. It will give your puppy the best start in its new life.

Yorkies are small but active dogs, and typically require 3-4% of their ideal body weight (rather than the 2-3% recommended for average dogs). Find out how big the parents are, and that will give you a good idea of what your puppy will weigh. I'm going to guess that your dog will weigh 7 lbs. That's 112 oz. So starting him on 3% of his ideal adult weight, he will need to eat around 3-4 oz. of food per day, preferably split into 3 or 4 meals until he's 6 months old (at which point you can cut back to 2 meals a day if you like).

Yorkies, as small dogs, generally do well with small bones. So, bone-in chicken breast, chicken wings, Cornish game hens, quail, and fish, are all good bone-in choices. And of course for boneless meals, beef, lamb, pork, rabbit, venison, and any other meat are fine choices.

In the next two weeks until you get him, I would highly suggest researching more into raw feeding, as much as possible, so you're prepared when he gets here. Here are some great resources to read:

That second to last link is a really great forum that's very friendly to beginners. The Yahoo group is good too, but sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, and some perceive it as a less beginner-friendly environment. Hope all that helps, and good luck with your new pup!

First you should not be taking a puppy that young,

it needs to be at least 8 weeks old so it can learn from it's

mother & siblings as well as be stronger.

No RAW meat diet, get him/her on a dog food that the 1st ingredient

is meat, not meat by product but meat. Everything after is just filler

anyway, canines are carnivores not omnivores.

Domestic Puppies do not have the built up immune system for raw meat and

feeding raw meat will make it very sick.

Yorkies are prone to low blood sugar, keep karo syrup in the house

and it he gets too sleepy all the time give him some on your finger

First - don't get that dog. NO *reputable* breeder sells puppies that are under 8 weeks old. That dog is poorly bred and is going to have tons of health and behavior issues.

Second, if you're new to raw diets, I'd suggest waiting until the dog is an adult. Puppies need the right amount of protein, fat, etc. to grow and develop properly. Feeding puppy food is a better idea so you don't end up screwing with his development.

Find a REPUTABLE breeder or adopt from a shelter/rescue. Don't support BYBs.

Im not to familiar on raw feeding,so im hoping one of the raw feeder regulars will help you out on this question, however I do know that you dont need to be feeding your pup veggies or fruit, its of no use to them and they get no nutrtional value from it,so its pretty much just a filler.

I would suggest you join the raw feeding group in the link above, they will be able to help you start your dog on the right track.

ADD:Jenny brought up a good point,6 weeks is far to young for a pup to be leaving his mum just yet,8 weeks is the reccomneded age,but personally I like breeders who dont sell pups until there 12 weeks old.Find a reputable breeder and do your research on raw feeding.

well raw meat is not good for dogs try searing it on both sides for about 2-5 minutes and cut it up 6 weeks old is also not good you should wait till 8 weeks the enzymes are not built up yet which could cause the dog to get very ill more often it needs its mother you should if you take it that long give it puppy milk from the pet store for about another 2-3 weeks with its food mix it in to like bread soak the bread in it.....this should build up her/his immune system good luck
