Are the retirement & medical benefits to congressmen a reward for lowering the income tax on the wealthy and?

Well it is mostly just for money in general. A corporate lobbyist goes to a congress person and says "hey if you vote to give our corporation tax cuts we will pay you money and vote for you in the next election! :D" Politics are all about money, nothing else.

No, the retirement plan and medical benefits for congress have been around for years. Back in the good old days when corporate profits weren't the only concern all real jobs used to have them.

Except for the Tea Party, EVERYTHING our politicians do is to simply get four things - M O R E - of you freedoms and money to buy votes from special interest groups with! Democrat and Republicans alike. Washington is nothing more than a huge cesspool of money and power grubbing parasites that see their survival in how much of your money they can give to those that will keep them in power.

Thank goodness for those crazy Tea Party politicians that could care less whether or not they stay.
