$70 dollar guinea pig cage...how to convince parents to get it?
So I am getting 2 guinea pigs soon. In like 2-4 weeks. So, the cage I am getting is $70 dollars. We got back from vacation yesterday and are a little tight on money. My mom and dad said i could get the guinea pigs after vacation. I understand they probably didn't mean RIGHT after vacation. But, the cage (I have to order it online) takes a week to get here. And we can't use cash. So, I can't help pay for it. We went to Wal-Mart today and they spent $86 dollars! That is 16 dollars more than they would spend on my cage. I didn't understand. I told them that that was 16 dollars more than my cage but they really didn't give me an answer. So I told them later today and asked why we couldn't order the cage for only $70 if they spent $86 at Wal-Mart, and they said, we are tight on money right now. I said, then why did you spend even more money than my cage at Wal-Mart? And I still didn't get an answer. I may sound whiney and spoiled, but I am not, so don't be mean, I am sorry if that's how I sound. Please just tell me how to convince them to buy the cage this week?! Thanks, no trolling! :)
I was thinking about telling them that I would pay them back in cash, but I wouldn't be able to pay them back everything. Because I still need soem money to pay for the piggies veggies.
I am making this clear. I am NOT making a C&C cage, I am arguing, I don't have to tell you why, but I am not, sorry. This cage isn't STORE bought, it isn't even from a store web-site, and its a nice cage.

Well, they probably were spending that money at Walmart on food and stuff that is important. why don't you buy a cheaper cage, or you can have them pay for the cage via credit card but you pay them back in cash? and you could try doing things around your house to help so you could earn money.

Don't use store bought cages, they are never big enough for Guinea Pigs, the best housing for the GP is a C&C cage they are easy to build relatively cheep to make..
Check out Cavy Cages.. www.guineapigcages.com
This site will show you just what a C&C cage is
Your the one who said your parents were tight on money, you want to spend 70 bucks on a cage go for it don't come on her and ask a question then get mad because your given an answer.. In your question you never said you were not makeing a C&C cage, ordering a cage on line or at a store is still the same they are still manufactured cages, O and BTW if the cage your are getting is a wire bottom it's the wrong cage for guinea pigs..

I know this is not what you asked for.
Instead of buying an overpriced cage, just build yourself a C&C cage. Guinea pigs need to live in C&C cages anyway, or cages close to that. They are extremely cheap and easy to build. They provide a lot of room for your guinea pigs, too. So that means you will be happy by seeing them be happy. Most store bought cages are way too small for even one guinea pig, as one needs at least 7.5 square feet.

$70 dollars sounds rather cheap for a guinea pig cage, are you sure its big enough for two males? they need 7.5 square feet of room, and with 70dollars i don't think thats possible. wait until you get more money to get them a large cage, its cruel to have them in a small cage, they actually love to run around and popcorn especially the young ones.

I know you don't want one but you can make a c&c for under $50. They are the best, biggest and cheapest option for guinea pig cages.
But no matter what cage you get it needs to be at least 7.5 square feet.

this is better then any walmart cage period.
and this is what your guinea pig needs 8 sq ft of space putting them in small cages is cruel and the piggy will be unhappy and it does not take weeks to get this cage even if u went with overnight shipping it would not cost as much as your parents spent

Save up your money to buy it. then if they still say no, say that you would do chores. and if that stil doesn't work. give them the look and offer all those things haha :)
