Please how many raka'ats is Taraweeh prayer really?

    Prophet Mohammad never prayed more than 8 rakahs. It was Ameerul Momineen Omar Bin Khattab who advised men to pray 20 rakah with Jamat to get more reward from Allah. He himself said, I have suggested a bidah but it is good bidah. So I have option to pray 8 or 20 rakahs in Taraveeh prayers.

    There are 20 rakat of Taraweeh Prayer and Taraweeh is Wajib for Saum(fast)

    Teraweeh prayer is 20 rakats long. It's made up of 2 rakats. So you just read 2 rakaats ten times... Understand?

    we do eight rakats here in saudi arabia...3 for witr! they pray longer though in makkah

    It can be 8,20 or any number odd number higher then that

    The more reward you want the longer you should pray
