For one thing, that is not a breed. I think of a large, drooling mutt. No, I wouldn't cross the street, and I never would pet a strange dog without asking the owner first.

I haven't met a mastiff/rottweiler mix but I have experience with those breeds separately. These breeds are loyal and protective, but also can be very cuddly, big old babies. I know that both breeds are dogs that can more easily get bored and suffer from too little exercise, resulting in destroyed furniture, chewed shoes, and excessive barking. They need 'jobs' to be happy.

I would definitely pet one in the street only after asking the owner. I'd do the same for a chihuahua, though.

I would cross the street to get away from a mastiff/rottweiler if I had another dog with me. That sounds like a powerful hybrid who would come out on top if a fight were to occur.

At first thought I would say that is going to be a pretty big dog. Not Great Dane huge, but big. I can't really comment on temperment since I don't know what the 'general' temperment of either breed is like. I looked up some pictures of this cross and I think they are ADORABLE! Now I want one. Lol I would definately ask to pet one if I ever saw one. And i'd be more likely to cross the street to get closer to it. :) they're cute.

There is no research you can do when it comes to a mixed breed. It's a crapshoot.

All I think is that it will likely be large.

Other than that, usually when it comes to mixed breed dogs the parents have not been health certified (including temperament tested) so you have no idea what you will end up with either temperament-wise or health-wise.

All I can do is say good luck and I hope if you get one that you train it and socialize it well so that I could walk up to it and pet it.

I've only owned one dog in my whole life, and it was a mutt. I got him from the shelter, and he was the best dog I could have ever met! Personally, I think you should get a dog/puppy from the animal shelter because they are in need of a home.

You shouldnt think of it like every rottie is like or every bm is like this :P As long as you raise the puppy with discepline and positive reinforcement and love and play and excercise, it should be a great loving and calm dog. But remember, every dog takes patience and understanding.

ive seen rotts mixed with mastiffs and they look like giant rotts.

theyve all been friendly... doesnt mean there isnt ones that arent though. im sure they also develop joint/bone problems though.
