Why do so many people say "I really like Ron Paul, but hes unelectable"?

If everyone that has made this comment or one like it actually got behind the man he would immediately go from unelectable to unbeatable.

Head to Head Ron Paul would crush Obama. The trouble is getting the Republican nomination.

From Obama's supporters Ron would win the drug vote, the anti-war vote, the transparency in government vote, should win the homosexual vote.

He is unelectable because he is not a republican, and he is not a democrat. The last libertarian to run as an independent was Ross Perot...and we all saw how that turned out. Without Ross Perot, there would have never been a Clinton presidency. Ron Paul will not get the GOP nod, and if he runs as an independent, all he will do is ensure an Obama victory. I think he would be a smart VP choice, but I don't know if that would ever happen either.

If voters actually learn more about him and his political views,he`s very electable. However the Liberal media will attack him just as they attacked Palin and if the voters listen to them his chances look poor unless in the mean time the economy really takes a nose dive and the media finally come to realize they should not support Obama and his failure to do anything but take this country down to the level of third world countries as is his goal.

Because they realize that the American populace isn't so concerned with morals and what is right but rather "whatcha gon' gimme?".

-He is not unelectable, people as a whole just don't respect what he has to offer. Values.

He is. He does not stand a chance in the GOP primary, because its loaded with ultra-conservative Christians who don't like his liberal social views, and the last third party to get more than a quarter of the votes was the Republicans in 1860.

Because its true. Winning a presidential election takes many things. The best ideas don't necessarily win.

Do the people with the best ideas bubble to the top where you work?? I've never seen that in the work place.
