Most foreign aid is wasted but giving money to China is just flat out ridiculous. We give them aid and they turn around and loan it back to us with interest. Then just to keep life interesting they use some more of our money to train hackers who then hack into various systems in the US.

Most Americans aren't stupid but I wonder about our government.

How this has transpired is that in recent years the Chinese economy has grown so fast that political developments in donor countries have not kept pace. Many countries that have provided foreign aid to China are now re-assessing their programs with an eye to cutting off the aid. The US could do the same thing. The main argument is the money could be better spent helping impoverished African nations instead.

So, the fact that China is the largest buyer in US debt holdings means nothing to you? Let them just sell their *Trillion Dollar Plus* of US debt holdings and call us even. That way we can "save money" on interest and foreign aid to China, right?
