Is flipping out at video games healthy?

My older brother is 20, and we both love video games (who doesn't?) and when hes not doing good in one or is losing he flips out, loudly. He swears, throws stuff and is just in an all out pissy mood for a while after he has a spell (what w call one of his episodes) and it happens at least once a day. I mean we all get mad and cuss at games but no where near the level he takes it. I've tried to tell him that he seriously needs to chill out sometimes but he just blows it off. He's always been smarter than me so hes always thought hes just plain better two. Our dad died about 6 or 7 years ago, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but i'm not sure. What could i do to help him?

Eh, yeah. Basically what's been said before. Your father's death may have something to do with his behavior. It does sound a little, uh, intense at that level. But you know, you said it too: we all get mad and cuss at games.

If it does have something to do with your father's death, perhaps he'll overcome this habit as time passes. If not, it's probably just the way he naturally is. It probably would be healthier if he could take it down a notch, but it could, as I said, just be the way he is.

To answer your original question, "Is flipping out at video games healthy?", it is--to a point.

It's healthy to blow off some steam and video games help you vent haha. The death of your father may have something to do with it. He might just be letting out emotions that he's kept inside for so long, but instea he's taking it out on video games.
