Time to repatriate the money that corporations have tied up offshore because of tax consequences?
Give a 6 month or 1 year amnesty on money brought back from overseas.
But the money has to go into public/private partnerships that are tied to NEW jobs in manufacturing, mining, drilling, and farming ONLY. This will support American jobs and American products. Let the corporations die that just act as middle men in financial deals. If those money shuffling ideas don't work, don't keep bailing out the magnificent losers.
And do punish the outsourcers. A company that sends jobs out of the country needs to have consequences. At least it needs to provide 1 or 2 years of free retraining to every worker it fires. It also has to put in money to the NEW jobs partnerships.
Lend manufactures and farmers money at .25%, not the banks.
It is time we started supporting the means of production, not the means of arbitrage.

Won't ever happen.
Business people will scream it's all a huge violation of their constitutional rights.
Court challenges alone will take years what with appeals and counter appeals.
It'd also require the consent of foreign governments where those offshore accounts are located.
Because if business people skip the US and ditch their US citizenship, there's nothing the US can do to get at that money if foreign banks refuse to hand over the money.
