What size dining room chandelier should I get if my dining table is 41 inches wide by 70" in length?

I need a higher light fixture since the ceiling is two stories high, but I'm not sure what width I need. Currently the fixture is 22 inches wide and it seems skimpy.

I've always go by room size more so than table size. Some guidelines:

    10'x10' room or smaller - 17" -20" diameter

    12'x12' room - 26" - 27" diameter

    14'x14' -pick a 24" - 36" diameter.

hang about 30" from surface of table

about 12" narrower than the width of the table (not a hard fast thing)

wattage should be about 200 -400 watts to provide sufficient light

I find the easiest thing to do is to talk to a professional.

If you go to http://www.kingdomlightingusa.com/ you can chat live with an employee to talk about sizes and styles of chandeliers.

They have some beautiful crystal chandeliers as well as brass chandeliers, both of which give off a different effect to the rooms, you can go for a more modern feel or an antique vibe.

    Happy decorating!
