After basic training graduation, what is the rules with family taking him to his AIT?

My Fiance is graduating his boot camp and he was talking about a 48 hour thing...and how he had to be at his next post by 48 hours after graduation...and can someone clarify that for me.

And is he allowed to take a civilian plane to his next location, alone? I need to know all this like asap.

thank you

Usually after graduation a soldier waits for their unit to arrange transportation to their next training. They can however arrange their own transport at their own expense as long as they arrive on time. As far as having family with him during AIT he could if he were in a school 6 months or longer and legally married. Hope this helps.

Normally your flight is booked after your basic training to your next station be it AIT or jump school etc. If you go home for the 48 hours interim break, its the responsibility of the soldier to find his/her way back to their next duty station in the time required, any way they wish.
