Trailer brake controllers?

I have an 85 c10 that is pre-computer, i just installed a gooseneck for towing now i need a controller what would be involved in installing one. i was looking towards a proportional trailer brake.

    Pretty much any place that sells trailers and hitches will have brake controllers for sale. If you buy a brake controller, some shops will do all the wiring for you at a discount price. I'd just let them do it.

    You'll need a 7-pin connector inside the bed to hook up to a gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer, but I'd have a second one at the rear bumper too, in case you want to tow something with a conventional ball hitch at some point.
