Do Christians never get sick?
I saw this answer on another question: It takes faith to believe that the lashes Jesus took on his back will set you free from sickness or disease.
So once you are a Christian- are you never sick ever again?

I've heard that one before and it takes quite a stretch of the imagination to come up with that one.
The bible says in Isaiah 53:5
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
5And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace [is] on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.
This is saying that his beating and crucifixion will bring you salvation, not immunity from disease. The healing referred to is, as is apparent from the context, a spiritual one.

I'm not a christian, I admit that, and I'm not trying to sound mean when I answer. I don't know where that quote came from, but if christian faith honestly prevented disease, the black death, stds, and countless other diseases would never have happened. There would also be definite proof of god.

Of course. That is why we have a sacrament called Annointing of the Sick.
James 5: 14-15 "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."

Being raised a Christian I have never heard that. You sound like a Muslim. Personally, I feel all religions are for the miserable sheep who need someone to tell them how to behave. Is there a God? Yes. Was there any prophet? No. We can all claim to be prophets. Religion is absolutely retarded to me. Get a life and quit pretending to be better then someone else.

yes Christians do get sick....the lashes that Jesus took were the pain that we would suffer from a life without the Lord after we die...Hell is an awful place and Jesus took his life for us so that we could all be saved from evil

Pshh I'm Christian and love God with my whole life
But that's a lie. Loving God doesn't give you complete health.
We're human. human bodies are suseptable to illness.
We can pray that God give us good health and a long life. And yes He does answer our prayers. But sometimes living through illnesses lead to different things and realizations.
So yes, we do get sick.

My arthritis and relatively high cholesterol say yes, we do get sick. I've been through pneumonia, eye surgery, broken bones, prostatitis, Bipolar II Disorder, and colon cancer, but god has seen me through it all, with, of course, the help of many fine doctors, surgeons, counselors, psychiatrists, nurses and other medical personnel.
So no, we are not immune to sickness, but I think that most of us have the attitude to work through it.

no, statistics show that people who are avidly involved in their religion get sick more often then people that aren't involved in a any religion because those who are involved often believe that their god will protect them from illness so they don't have to be precautionary steps to better their health. those who aren't religious try to better their health more often.
@TruthRevealed: wouldn't getting a bunch of ill ppl together just spread more desieses? you know that people who are already sick have low immune systems. so that doesn't seem like a good idea.
