If you use disposable diapers what brand do you prefer?

I have a four month old son who I have used Pampers on up to this point. Recently I switched Jim over to Huggies because I can by the jumbo box of 258 diapers for only 38 dollars at Costco. Then when I was talking to some girlfriends today about diaper brands some of the women talked about having a preference between brands. One woman said she actually preferred Huggies for her son because with Pampers all of the "wetness" seemed to just hold in the front...whereas she said the Huggies seemed to absorb the pee evenly through the diaper. If you use disposable diapers, which do you prefer? Or is there another brand you like?

I prefer huggies. For my daughter they seem to fit her best and I never have any leakage issues.

With my first daughter, I swore by Huggies. They were the only diaper that she didn't get a rash from. And they kept the "mess" in! With my second daughter, she too wore Huggies, I had a good experience with them the first time, so I figured why not. Well, then it got to be a bit expensive buying 2 different sizes of Huggies every week - $20, just for diapers, so I switched them both to the Wal-Mart brand. Never had a leakage, no rashes, and at $5.50 a pack, who can complain?

It all depends on your child's bottom, and how he reacts to them. If he does good, then you're good to go. But one thing I have learned, is with all these different diaper brands, all you're paying for is the name. Even the Family Dollar/Dollar General store brands work pretty efficiently!

I used pampers when my daughter was very little, because I thought they seemed more comfy than huggies, and also worked better at night for her.....now I have actually switched to huggies because they have the best nighttime diapers i have found, the huggies overnights, they are wonderful....the change came when my daughter was leaking through ever diaper we tried, and i was getting sick of washing sheets every day, they work wonders for an older baby.

I started with Pampers and switched Huggies, then Luvs. My son was wetting through his diapers at night. I tried a few untill I found the ones that were best for him. Luvs were no good for my daughter...she did best with pampers.

So for me...I don't care about the brand if they work. But...I started them both with Pampers. Not sure why..I guess because it is the most popular one.

We are still trying to figure that out. Our 10 week old is still going through the diapers given to us. The sad thing is that he is growing so fast that we have to give away diapers given to us. So far we like both Pampers and Huggies for our son.

  • Every baby is different so you never know what will work for yours. I personally love the Target up&up brand, so that's what I use during the day time. They leak at night time though since my daughter sleeps through the night, and the only brands I've found to work for her at night are Huggies and Luvs. So I use Luvs because they're cheaper. I've tried lots of other brands, including Pampers and they don't work for night time for my daughter. It's really just a lot of trial and error. :)

Pampers all the way! I cant stand Huggies. Although their little Jean diapers are cute I still dont like using anything other than Pampers. They seem to fit better and absorb more of the wetness. Plus Pampers gives you reward points that you can use online to get free stuff and hey who doesnt like free stuff? lol

I have three children and my preference was different with each of them. My 1st daughter used Pampers, Huggies, Luvs and several store brands (CVS, Rite Aid and BJ's Wholesale Club brands were great but WalMart brands White Cloud and Parent's Choice leaked really bad). Her bottom was happy with anything. My 2nd daughter could only use Pampers. Huggies, Luvs and everything else gave her rashes. With my 3rd child, my son, the only thing we could use was Huggies. IDK if it was because he is a boy or because he was shaped differently with huge thighs, but everything else leaked. With each child my preference changed on what worked best for that child.

I swore by Huggies, but then realized Pampers were way better. They absorb the wetness more, and my sons diapers are very wet. They never leak, Huggies sometimes did. The material is more absorbent and leak-proof, and they are a better size (slightly bigger).
