Schooling Show Question?
Today my barn had a mini trial today w/ dressage, xc, and stadium jumping. Everything thing went well. Double Clear Courses! Whahoo! lol My question is in these little shows my instructor usually gives out ribbons to the riders. These past few times she has given us horse shoes painted 1st, 2nd....ect. I have a lot of my ribbons around my wall in my room. For paying $55 shouldn't you receive a ribbon. Should I tell her this or not. She isn't that friendly and forgets stuff like this a lot. Its just for paying this much shouldn't you at least get a freaken ribbon?

You could hint on it but don't outright tell her, she may take offense to it. Say like omigosh I just got the coolest ribbon at my show the other day, I love ribbons.
Good luck

i think that a horse shoe painted is pretty cool, be glad that she is actually giving you something, considering a lot of places around me that do mini trials only place up to 5th in each division. and i know and i say that "winning ribbons isn't everything, its only the ride that mattered, and its only one persons opinion." but nothing can break the feeling of riding home with that pretty ribbon sitting on your lap or the dash board. and ribbons do cost a lot, i was looking into getting my flat ribbons changed into rosettes and i think it was going to be like $70 for 2 12" ribbons.you might be able to find something like this to hang up the horse shoes http://www.dapperfrog.com/image.aspx?image=Product... hope this helps ♥

No, I don't think you should be so snotty about it. Who cares. Its just a schooling show anyway, so its not like it should matter what kind of award you get. Its not going to matter for the rest of your show career. If you don't think its worth it, don't do it.

It's a schooling show. That means it's a practice run. If you have so many you don't need to be super stuffy about not getting them from one schooling show.
