Shot my marlin 795 for the first time and 2 misfires, should I be worried?

I shot over 30,000 rounds of CCI this summer on my range. A ballpark guess is that I had maybe 1 misfire in 1 to 2 bricks of 500.

I shot just under 1 brick of Rem's and had about a dozen.

I'd stick with CCI, there are a lot of variables, especially how the ammo was stored, but 2 in 100 sounds high for CCI. Likely just a fluke. Likely nothing to do with the gun.

3 out of 150? that's pretty good for rimfire ammo, misfires are expected with rimfire ammo due to the mass production they go though, sometimes the primer mix doesn't get all around the rim of the case, so when the firing pin hits the rim, there's nothing there to spark and ignite the powder. even centerfire ammois expected to misfire sometimes, even high quality stuff.

Properly clean & lubricate the rifle.

Last time I checked, the Owner's manual said to clean & lubricate the rifle every 200 cartridges or after every shooting session.

It may be that the ammunition was faulty. It may also simply be a "dirty rifle" type of malfunction.

Also, try different ammunition. CCI is usually good stuff, but you could try other ammunition from Federal, Remington or Winchester.

I would avoid using Remington "Thunderbolt" and Winchester "Wildcat" .22LR ammunition. Both have given me high rates of failure-to-fire or other malfunctions.

Hmm usually the're arent any misfires in the first 100 rounds of ANY semi auto 22. Fire another 100 or so and see if there's any more
