Does a company "division" require an ABN?

I have an LLC and want to add a small venture to it, but don't want to have separate taxes, paperwork, etc. So do i need a ABN to direct the small venture to the LLC? Do I have to say "small venture division of _______ LLC"? Are either acceptable?

An Assumed Business Name is a DBA, used to indicate that an entity (either an individual or an existing corporation or LLC) is "doing business as" another name. If this is what you'd like to do -- operate your new company under the umbrella of your existing business -- then an ABN would accomplish those purposes.

    Good luck!
