Value of a 25 year old flute?

My daughter inherited her aunt's flute. It is 25 years old, refurbished w/ new pads. It is in very good condition w/ only one tiny ding in it. Plays really well. I was wondering if anyone knew it's approximate value today? I need it for the schools band insurance form. Thanks in advance.

Update:

Not sure on the metal. I would guess silver plate or nickel. It's an Artley flute. Serial number 648530.

Update 2:

Most likely its an 18-0 student model Artley flute. (1983-84) It would be plated with either nickel or silver. If it turns brown or black, that is silver tarnish and would be a silver plated model. $300 max in near new condition.

We need to know the brand. It also depends on the type of metal it's made from (solid silver, silver plated, or nickel) and whether the keys are open or closed. If you have the serial number, that would help, too.

Chances are it's not worth much, if anything. Flutes that are that old are rarely worth much since they depreciate quickly. Write back with those details and maybe we can tell you more.
