I hurt my knee a few weeks ago. What do you think happened to it?
I was riding in a bumper car at the fair with my boyfriend two weeks ago not buckled in, and when we hit someone, I slid forward and slammed my knee HARD into this metal corner inside the car. The corner jammed into the upper outside part of my kneecap. It hurt a lot for a few days, but now it only hurts when I bend my knee, like when I try to kneel down on my calves or cross my legs. It's like a sharp pain like right under the kneecap in that spot on the upper outside. Could I have bruised a joint or something?

Have you thought about seeing a medical professional rather than a bunch of mostly ignorant idiots?

ice and elevate the knee if it continues to hurt. take ibuprofen to reduce swelling; which is where the pain is coming from. if little or no improvement in a week, or it gets stiff; you need a consult with an orthopedic surgeon; not the family doc. the ortho surgeon will have the answers.knees are complex. slight damage can grow into a debilitating problem if not dealt with. i ended up using crutches before "keyhole" surgery could restore knee function.
Source(s): had knee pain. the ortho surgeon gave me a diagnosis after a "range of motion" test. i was glad i had a consult. - Anonymous10 years ago
