2000 Infiniti G20 doesn't run right?
This car starts ok but doesn't want to go very fast. The RPM's rev but the speed has trouble increasing. A neighbor looked at it and said the spark plugs were worn and needed changed and also mentioned a sensor. My husband changed both the spark plugs & the sensor. It still isn't running right and no one seems to know what is wrong with it. He has had it to a few different garages but no one knows what's wrong. I guess the computer isn't showing anything. Yesterday he had a guy go over it and he said all of the sensors are ok. He wondered about the catalytic converter so he checked it and it checked out ok. What do you do when mechanics can't even figure out what's wrong? Anyone out there know much about Infinitis or Nissans? We don't have any Infiniti dealers in our area.

if the rpm's are going up but the vehicle isn't moving faster, that would be a tranny issue. change the fluid and filter in the tranny, and see how it performs ! Also ,if the fluid level in the tranny is low ,it will cause the same problem, drive the car till the tranny is hot ,park the car and leave it running, open the hood of the engine compartment, remove the tranny dip stick, wipe it off , re-insert it, pull it out again and see where the full mark is in relation to the actual fluid level, if it is down add enough fluid to bring the level to the full mark on the dip stick,

Hi Angela, The FIRST thing to do is sit down w/your husband and write down the list of symptoms. Example: 1. It runs intermittently in the morning(or whatever the problem). Also write down any conditions that should be noted (like 'only when it's cold', etc.). Next, write down the specific information about the car (2000 Infiniti G20), what size engine, how many miles, and any details you can think that might also be unique to this car (ex: it was in an accident last year, etc). Also write down the kind of driving most commonly done by you(do you live in the mountains? like that). Now after all that you need to get in touch with an Infiniti dealer. Once all other mechanics are stumped, this is the final answer. Email that information to the nearest Infiniti dealer AFTER calling them and speaking to the Service Manager. After that, it's in their hands. Be prepared to spend some cash. Good luck!

sounds like the transmission. when was the last time the fluid and filter been changed in the transmission? your husband sounds like he knows a little about cars so ask him to change the fluid and filter. the filter could be almost clogged up.
