How is Winchester Power Core 95/5?
I've seen this ammo go for very low prices for lead-free and living in California I am very interested. Does anyone know how these rounds hold up? Are they good on game?
I'm probably going to buy a couple boxes and shoot them this weekend, but I'd love to know if they're good against game before I go and spend my time/money.
I'm shooting .300 Win Mag and would love to have a 180 grain bullet, but it appears that the ones in the ads are all 150 grain. Are there 180 grain .300 Win Mag boxes of this stuff readily available?

I haven't used the Winchester 95/5,which seems to be very similar to the Nosler E-Tip,but my friends and I use the Barnes Triple Shocks (and they have newer polymer tipped offerings). My friends went to Africa and got one shot kills with various calibers on various game;including Cape Buffs and a world class Eland with .375 H&H mag. I shot a bison with the same rifle and had perfect performance, and last couple deer proofed it with my 30-06.If you look online for Barnes Bullet Videos you can see how they work;mechanically they open into petals and retain their weight. You will normally have a pass through channel, but I have recovered some bullets.
Using the Barnes "can" copper-foul sooner than standard jacket material, but the 95/5 and the Noslers don't seem to have is much trouble with that.It just means using a copper cleaning solution on the barrel when you clean.
I do suggest the 180 grains too,150s in a 300 Win Mag might not shoot as consistently, and the 165/180 grains take best advantage of the 300's power. I reload for my 06 and 300 WSM and have great accuracy (sub MOA) and using 165s in each has never been a problem with terminal performance.
