58-64 Pirates, what happened, is there still hope?

Is there any chance now that my beloved Pittsburgh Pirates will get over 81 wins this season.

Ok let's look at it this way lets say they do go 23-17 actually they need to go 24-16 in last 40 to have a winning record. Is it possible sure but is there really any point to them having a winning record. September is call up time roster expand to 40 players. You look and evaluate what you have if you feel you have no future (playoff hopes) .I can see no real value to weather they win 72,75 or 82 games in 2011. Maybe for first time in a while they show promise that doesn't change now the management face hard decisions what do you need what don't you need what can you get to build a winner something not scene in Pit in 20 years.

it's all about their pitchers. to look at their numbers, they were clearly playing above their heads through the first half of the season, so it's been no real surprise that they've slumped lately and have fallen back to earth. lot of talent on that team, but it's still another one or two years away.

they'll need a pretty good run from here on out to reach .500 this year and likely won't do it, but they have a real good chance of reaching .500 next year if they can add some talent to their starting rotation.

    They play

    Cincinnati x 6

    Milwaukee x 7

    St. Louis x 7

    Houston x 6

    Los Angeles x 5

    Chicago x 3

    Florida x 3

    Arizona x 3

I can see them taking 4 for cinci, 2 from milwaukee, 2 from st louis 5 or 6 from houston, 3 from los angeles, 1 from chicago. 2 from florida 1 from arizona. 20 or 21 outta 40. i doubt they will win 23 of those

The Pirates got into a slump. Unfortunately, the Pirates are done. No one in that division is going to catch the Milwaukee Brewers.

They have to win 23 out of their last 40 games. Let's see who they have left.

    Cincinnati x 6

    Milwaukee x 7

    St. Louis x 7

    Houston x 6

    Los Angeles x 5

    Chicago x 3

    Florida x 3

    Arizona x 3

So 23 of their last 40 games are against teams with better records. I'd give them about a 30% chance of winning 81 games.

I examine something that mentioned that Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Kiera Knightley are on the process arising a 4th Pirates of the Caribbean in accordance to the action picture's writers. I understood the crab issues. you fairly had to observe the action picture and pay close interest. i'm no longer likely to describe for the sake of the people who have not considered the action picture yet however.

Getting 81 wins is possible, but unlikely. No way they make the playoffs, though.

They went into a skid, every team does. Have hope.
