Anxious.. Scared. Who else seen nothing on ultra sound at 5 weeks? Answers needed for comfort!?

Went in for my pregnancy confirmation on yesterday. I have taken a total of 9 pregnancy test (two being at the doctor's office) all positive. :) I am 5 weeks. Did an ultrasound yesterday didn't see anything but he could tell that my uterus lining was thickening, which he says is what happens when body is preparing for baby. DR says it is because you can't really see anything until at least 6 weeks so I go back next week for another ultra sound. He was very cool about is says that this is normal I am just so nervous because this is our first child and we have been trying for several years to get pregnant. Had anyone else experience this.

At 5 weeks it is perfectly normal not to see anything yet. I went in for an ultrasound after getting a positive pregnancy test 8 weeks after I miscarried... we then found out I was about 5 weeks along with another baby!

We were so excited and at the same time so terrified.. but our doctor told us its normal and you don't normally see anything until after 6-7 weeks. We went back 3 weeks later (most of that time was spent trying to keep myself calm and not stress) and saw our beautiful little baby and his heartbeat. He's now 17 months old and everything we could have asked for!

Just try to remain calm and not stress. Next week you will see your baby and their little heartbeat. It's the most beautiful thing :) congratulations!

I had an empty sac at 5 weeks and the doc did not reassure me, so it def sounds like you have a good doc.

It's normal to see nothing at this point. You'll feel so much better in a few weeks when you see your little bean.

    Congrats!

(Remember, if there was a problem, you would know. Your body would be telling you. And no one knows better than your doctor!)

Source(s): Saw nothing at 5 weeks and just saw my baby girl open and close her mouth, unfold her legs and "wave" at 19 weeks.
