Do you know the name of this movie?

Question

I don't remember much about the movie except that it is set in the future and all your actions were tracked.  For example, you had to have your fingerprint taken when you went into buildings.  Anyways, one guy (don't remember if it was the good guy or bad) chopped off a dead guy's finger and was using it to get into the buildings so he was not recognized as himself.  He had this chopped off finger in his coat pocket.  That's all I can remember.

My first guesses were Gattaca and Minority Report, too. I don't it's either of them.

In Gattaca, Ethan Hawke's character use a fake fingertip that's filled with blood to gain access to a restricted area. It's not actually an entire finger, though.

In Minority Report, retinal scans are used.

Hmm...I'm going to keep thinking on this, but could it be Equilibrium or Repo Men?

This sounds like every single movie that has ever used the gimmick of a finger print scanner.  At this point it is almost a guaranteed result of showing you this system.  For that matter, every time they have an ID machine which scans the eyeball they do the same thing.

This is a movie cliche.

Proof?  It's in an episode of Red Dwarf.

I dont think it was The Minority Report, because they had to do with the eyes, might have been Imposter, i need more details, i have seen it, just dont remember off hand
