Is the government open enough in its actions for the average voter to know enough to make a informed decision?

    If someone is willing to dig deep enough, the answer is always there on an issue. Sometimes this may come as sorting out the details between "both" sides of the media... but yes.

    It just takes a hell of a lot of determination.

    I will also say there are things the average American just doesn't "want" to know. Example: I don't know anyone that wanted to "see" Bin Laden's mangled face. My Representative would serve perfectly well as a buffer in such instances.

    all one has to do is vote for or against the incumbent and that's based on whether or NOT he likes what has happened since that person/party took office.

    stautus quo or change, thats the question that drives politics
