No he is not punishing you.. Remember Jehovah is a God of love, he is not spiteful. Keep in mind what 2 Corinthians 4:4 said. The god of this system of things has blinded that minds of the unbelievers, so the good news about the Christ may not shine through. We're living in Satan's world. Thus the suffering.

But the bible does tell us why this is happening.. Read Matthews 24:6-8 and you will hear of wars and report of wars, see that your not terrified. There will be food shortages and EARTHQUAKES in one place after another. All these things are the beginning of pangs of distress. Matthews said these things must happen before the conclusion of this system of things. We're already having problems in the U.S with food shortage, We all know of wars around the world, pangs of distress; sicknesses, infections, diseases plagues all of us. And Earthquakes... This is one of so many prophecy found in the bible that's being fulfilled right before our eyes... And i pray that we all see it soon.. Because it means life..
