As an American how would you describe your/our culture?

Well first off, our culture is a mix of many other cultures. Also, it depends on where you live - California culture is much different than that of Boston, for example.

The west coast tends to be much more laid back, whereas the east coast is generally more fast paced and hectic. Think jazz - west coast jazz is smooth and chill, whereas east coast jazz is fast and happening.

Climate also affects culture. In places where it snows a lot, winter sports may play a big role. In drier areas, some people may surf or skate, or maybe cruise with the top down.

And let's not forget pop culture and all the various subcultures of the youth. "Scene kids" and "gangstas" are very different. All in all, American culture depends on where you live and what types of people you hang out with, seeing as how diverse it is.
