Should I go to the ER?

I have a small sharp like chest pain smack dab in the middle of my chest and a little lower. I last about 2 secods and every 10 minutes or so. It just started tonight. I don't get short of breath or anything like. It's just the pain. I'm overweight though and a little worried. Should I go to the ER? or wait it out and see if it gets worse or what??

My first thought is you might be having some stomach pain based on how you are describing the pain - the stomach is right below the end of the rib cage. Take an aspirin right now. If you are not having any other symptoms, no shortness of breath, no pain in the left arm, no perspiration or any other kind of distress except the sharp pain, I'd wait one hour and see how you feel. Sharp pains tend to be associated more with gas pains, or other issues, not heart. Just hold on for a bit - try drinking some warm tea.

If you get no worse or no additional problems come up it may be something to see a doctor about but I don't believe it is what you are thinking - I don't think it's your heart. But stay up for awhile and monitor yourself. Just try and take it easy. Make sure to take aspirin - aspirin provides protection in the event of a heart problem. But for me the big clue is the sharp pain - I've never seen sharp pains in heart problems. Read about one thing that causes sharp pains below:

And if your symptoms do get worse or your pain increases, then have someone take you to an urgent care facility - do not drive yourself.

I'm practically 38, so I'm undoubtedly a side of Generation X, ... but I not ever particularly hooked up with the entire misplaced-in-this-international, slacker character that we have been all intended to narrate to. Probably on the grounds that my mom and dad and siblings have been all older -- while I used to be born, my sibs have been sixteen, 17, and 18 -- all of them grew up within the '50s and '60s. Anyway, I bet if I needed to select one, it might be "Rusty Cage" by way of Soundgarden. Just on the grounds that I can relate to feeling like an intruder, and short of to break away from the matters that maintain me down and/or make me very similar to different persons. My household used to be additionally lovely screwed up, so I too can relate this music to short of to break away from their controlling manipulation, abuse, and all that distinct stuff ...
