Alcohol poisoning in a 15 year old girl?
Okay.. so basically. I was at a school dance. I am a freshmen. My friend decided to do something completely stupid, and got drunk on the school bus to the dance. She had a wine bottle size bottle full of vodka. She drank about half of it. The sophomores tried to help her, and the dean found out, and paramedics were called. She had to go to the hospital and get her stomach pumped, and when we called it was unknown whether she would be ok? so i was wondering the likelyhood of someone dying like this?

The likelihood of someone dying at 15 from this is high.
If she had her stomach "pumped" she is probably also on a ventilator or life support. If she vomited at any time and aspirated the vomit into her lungs, she will have serious complications.
If serious enough her brain may be severely affected. She might live but not as she had. She may be in a vegetative state for the rest of her life.

If she had any more then yes she could've died. Think of it this way, when you throw up from drinking it's your body telling you "oh god i can't take any more of this ****". But when it gets to the point when you need you're stomach actually pumped then thank god the paramedics were there. People die from drinking all the time and so you should be responsible!!! Just know your limit and play within it haha.

I'm guessing she drank about half of a 750 mL bottle - about 12 shots she drank? That's enough to get totally wasted, especially for a 15 y.o. girl.
I'm a 21 year old, 115 lb woman, and I had a drink with about 1.5 shots in it, and I got pretty buzzed. Enough where I stumbled a bit. So, yes, the equivalent to 12 shots is a lot and might kill you, but it also might not.

it is possible. that's why they pumped her stomach to try and remove as much alcohol as possible before her system absorbs all of it. alcohol is toxic and when drank in excess it can shut down your central nervous system. the possibility of negative effects are much higher for someone who is younger. age, gender, and body weight are determining factors of how well a person's body can cope with the consumption of alcohol. your friend made a foolish decision as many do at that age and hopefully she will be able to learn from it

If she was pumped, she should be OK?
It all matters if she stopped breathing.
Never drink more than you know you can handle, or atleast do what your friend did and be sure others are around to help you.
Alcohol poisoning can kill you.

High.
They made it 21 for a reason. I hope she is okay, and that she wont be foolish enough to do that again.
