I am a freshman in highschool, at a small private all girls school. I take all honors classes possible, and I am getting A and A- in all but Honors Biology...which I will probably get a C+ in, but i currently have a B-. I play volleyball, I am a camp counselor at the Zoo for 4 weeks each summer, I play french horn, and i know how to play piano. I am in jazz band and I should graduate high school with about 8 AP classes.

I may transfer to a big coed high school with 350 students in a grade, and I am wondering if this will affect my college applications.

I know it is only freshman year, but I truly wish to go to Georgetown, my dad went there. I know people on the Board, if that helps too?

So, after hearing a little about me, what would you change to help me get into Georgetown? I know it is still 3 years away.

I am currently a Freshman in high school, at an independent all girls school with under 50 girls in each class. I went there for kindergarten-eighth grade as well. I loved the elementary school, and when applying to high schools felt i wasn't ready to leave it, so i fought against my parents so that I could stay at the school.

The school they wanted me to go to is a huge catholic high school, with about 350 students per grade. It is coed, and completely opposite from the school i attend. It is where my dad went and now sits on the board.

I started freshman year in August, and so far...it has sucked. I love my friends from the elementary school, but all the new girls are annoying, and I don't want to talk to them. The school is too easy, and i never study or do homework...but i have straight As. And i feel like overall school is dull and boring. I don't look forward to going to school anymore. Last year i would be excited to see friends, and teachers.

So my problem is:

I really don't like my school anymore, and I truly want to transfer out, but i feel like i fought too hard to earn it. My parents really didn't want me to go to this school anymore, and I think it was humiliating that my dad was on the board of the other school but i didn't go there. I don't want to seem like i was just stubborn last year or anything, so i don't really want to tell my parents that i want to transfer. I am tired of my school, and everyone at the other school loves it. I am just scared of my parents, because it is what they wanted all along.

What is your opinion and how should i tell my parents? The school allows transfers to apply in January.

I am also wondering if this will affect me when i apply to college. I don't know how it would, but i just want to be positive.

These are 2 names I have always loved, and I am definitely using them, as first or middle names for future children. I don't think they are too matchy especially with different nicknames, so what do you think?

I am a freshman and last Thursday night, something happened, that really affected me.

My friend, sophomore, committed suicide. I met her in middle school, and we carpooled twice a week for the whole year to sports practice. She also went to the same temple as me. She went to a high school with 350 kids per grade, and was one of the most popular. She loved her life. Today was her funeral, and almost 2000 people showed up in her honor. She was going through a lot lately, and was seeing a therapist, but no one ever expected this to happen. It was an extreme shock, and I am having issues coming to terms with it. I am just upset, because i saw her every weekend for 3 hours, and it is hard now to never see her, even though we didnt always talk. I have cried, and moped. I just feel like it is everywhere, because so many people knew her. Im ready to move on, just unsure how. I talked to my parents, friends, and my school is really supportive.

She could have had anything she wanted. There were no financial problems, or social problems. Her family loved her, and has been torn apart, literally, by this. Her mom could barely come today.

How have you ever dealt with something like this?

Okay.. so basically. I was at a school dance. I am a freshmen. My friend decided to do something completely stupid, and got drunk on the school bus to the dance. She had a wine bottle size bottle full of vodka. She drank about half of it. The sophomores tried to help her, and the dean found out, and paramedics were called. She had to go to the hospital and get her stomach pumped, and when we called it was unknown whether she would be ok? so i was wondering the likelyhood of someone dying like this?

The essay is 2-3 pages, and talks about 3 important themes in the book, and the main/most important character and why, and a symbol. I already chose the sea as my symbol. Please help! i am just unable to start the essay.

At my school, girls go COMPLETELY over the top. (Betsey Johnson, Bloomingdales, Barneys, any place with dresses over 200 dollars....) I know that makes my school look really stuck up.

My budget though, is 100 dollars. So I need help finding a dress. I have no preference where is is from, as long as it is in the budget.
