Teenage friend committed suicide, and now i dont know how to cope?

Hi everyone,

I am a freshman and last Thursday night, something happened, that really affected me.

My friend, sophomore, committed suicide. I met her in middle school, and we carpooled twice a week for the whole year to sports practice. She also went to the same temple as me. She went to a high school with 350 kids per grade, and was one of the most popular. She loved her life. Today was her funeral, and almost 2000 people showed up in her honor. She was going through a lot lately, and was seeing a therapist, but no one ever expected this to happen. It was an extreme shock, and I am having issues coming to terms with it. I am just upset, because i saw her every weekend for 3 hours, and it is hard now to never see her, even though we didnt always talk. I have cried, and moped. I just feel like it is everywhere, because so many people knew her. Im ready to move on, just unsure how. I talked to my parents, friends, and my school is really supportive.

She could have had anything she wanted. There were no financial problems, or social problems. Her family loved her, and has been torn apart, literally, by this. Her mom could barely come today.

How have you ever dealt with something like this?

<3 missing you forever. always in my heart. 1995-2011 .California. Ill never forget your big smile and laugh. I love you babydoll <3

We all look for answers, for reasons. But sometimes there are none. And all we can do is hurt.

I don't know why she did this. And I'm sure you don't either. Don't blame yourself because there may not even be a reason.

I have never dealt with anything like this. I'm sorry I can't help you more. Just know I support you and I wish this hadn't happened <3

Seriously, email me at meadowlarkg@yahoo.com and I'll be happy to talk, and listen. I know you don't know me but I'm a junior in high school and I know how it sucks to be a teen sometimes.

In the past 2 years I have had one friend kill himself one friend die of a heart related issue and one from a drug overdose. All of them were great people and I still sometimes feel the pain your describing. It never gets any easier but it's the way we as people handle it. Your friend would want you to live your life and enjoy it to the fullest. If your still having problems email if not I wish you the bestand good luck

  • You will learn to cherish the times you had...time makes it a little better. One of my friends died of alcohol poisoning on new years day 2010. I'm still not totally over it. Little things make me think of him and I still swear I see him sometimes. You learn to live without them but you will never forget them. If you want someone to talk to you can email me nikslovespeace@yahoo.com

    Source(s): Hope I could help!

That's terrible. So sorry for your loss. Does anyone know why she did this?
