There is a bat in my house, but not moving.?

Okay so i woke up and my mom had said theres a bat in the house. And i was like what?! In my back hallway room, and bathroom (next to eachother) there are tons and tons of black drops i belive to be the droppings.Off of the hallway other than the bathroom is our backdoor and and im really sure yet where this thing came in. Maybe we left our backdoor open and he flew in? We would have heard him come in if someone had did it as a joke and theres no holes, or openings in our bathroom, hallway, or any other room. he was in our trash and aparently just laying there. Right now hes not moving. Hes about slightly larger thann a butter stick yet smaller than a size 2 shoe. hes got med. brownish fuzzy fur, and really really really black legs or wings. Please help! What kind of bat is this? Where did he come from? What should i do?

Update:

CORRECTION: he is lying on our porch now but alive yet not moving. i need pest control or more info to get rid of him!

Some bats cannot take off from the ground, so he may need to be put into a tree or some other high place. If he is injured, contact someone at a nearby bat rescue center for help. There is NO reason to call an exterminator. We recently had a bat fly in through our chimney. All he wanted was to get back outside; not bother us. As for rabies, the chances are slim to none that he has them. Less than 1/2 of 1% of bats catch rabies.

Without a piciure, I can't guess. We have tiny brown furry ones out here, the bodies are the size of a mouse. Most are e Mexican Free-Tailed bats (another illegal alien!)

Seriously, try to scoop it in a box and take it to a pet store. Many there either have an employee in wildlife rescue or will take it there for you or tell you where it is.

They can get in the Tiniest holes, again, like a mouse.

EDIT: Bats Don't carry rabies. If they Have it, they will act sick; foaming at the nouth, etc. Ref: Wildllife rescue. Biologists. Wildlife Museum near Gates Pass. Tucson Dily "Star" article on bats.

Quickly call animal control before it bites someone. If it bites someone they will get rabies the bat may not move but its probably alive if you have pets dont let them eat the droppings.

    Call Animal Control-or an exterminator.

    Bats can carry rabies.

This is unusual behavior he's exhibiting, you need to be careful.

    Even with the droppings.

    Call Animal Control-or an exterminator.

Until someone gets there-steer clear of him.

    Is he hurt?

Get on some thick work gloves, pick him up &&: Put him in a cardboard box &&: put him in your yard. &&:leave it open 4 he can fly out whenver he wants..
