Should I unplug all my appliances?

You should unplug everything and then throw the main breaker. If the hurricane hits your house then doing this will keep house from catching on fire or if it does alot of damage you can go back and not worry about getting electrocuted if alot of damage. I sure hope everything goes well for you.

If you have a mandatory evacuation then yes unplug and shut down the power at the main..If its just a precautionary evacuation unplug everything beside your fridge.

Better to shut off power at the main.If the damage in your neighborhood is bad,you would lose power any way.Problem is when they restart the power,everything should be off first because of the danger of fires.Appliances that need to be protected should be unplugged,especially your computer.Power surge could burn out your surge protector.
