Why are people Congratulating me?
I got my GCSE results and I was very disappointed with them and I did much worse than I thought and it was absolute poop compared to my sister (straight A student).
But my family are calling me and congratulating me for CRAP. I don't like it. I don't want to seem like a miserable ungrateful person but my whole family is fake and they are saying things they don't mean.
I cried and cried because of my results and I don't want to be reminded of them. Why are they doing this to me and how do I get over it?

Maybe they just want to make you feel better.i mean they're not going to say 'man you did crappy!' so instead they're still trying to be positive about the grade you did make.
my sister was always making better grades than me and my parents knew that i wasn't really an A student so they still congratulated me on D's.
i think they're just trying to make you feel better about the situation.just tough it out with a smile on your face because it'll probably end soon.they can't keep congratulating you forever!
over the years, you just get used to not being the pride in the family because of your grades.don't let it get you down! just do your best-that's all anyone can do!
good luck in the future!

Maybe they're being truthful. They're your family, so they're going to be proud of you for whatever you got. When I took GCSEs, my mum didn't care that I didn't do well because she knows I did the best I could. Just don't be upset if you feel you didn't do well, GCSEs are unneeded for later in life, technically. Colleges, Universities and work places like seeing A Levels. So work hard for them and you can accomplish pretty much anything.

I'm sure they're congratulating you because they want to make you feel better about it. I'm sure they don't mean to be putting you down . Just forget about the old test scores, that's the past . Move on in life, greater things are waiting to be discovered . Tell your family that you appreciate their support , but you would like them to stop .

You didn't fail did you? Cos' if you didn't they are probably congratulating you for just getting through it and passing. Tell them to shut up. If you don't like it. Well maybe say, 'Thank You But im not pleased with them and don't want to be reminded so, please stop congratulating'
