  • My Long haired Queen has a lot of awful knots in her fur even though she gets groomed everyday?

    My cat is a dark long haired Turkish angora, so she's very fluffy! When I read about her breed it said she is close to a Persian cat however she does not need to brushed everyday. But I do brush her everyday just in case.

    One day when she came back from the rain (I usually brush her after getting wet) this time she didn't let me brush her-one day can't hurt right? But she has really bad knots and she gets more every week.

    She has also not been feeling well lately :( she's with me now, always sleepy, hardly eating, weak and just wants me to comfort her

    Also we had a fox and 3 cubs living in our garden. My cat stays well away from them even if it takes not going outside. We gave her flea medicine and dewormer just in case (as usual as she dose get fleas at this time/season) now the foxes have gone thank God.

    Could the foxes have something to do with it. Please help. Thank you for reading and answering my cat and I really appreciate it. :)

  • Starting a Book Club, for the first time...?

    I'm starting a book club at my college for anyone and everyone (students) for the very first time. Have you got any tips for me and important information? I am very nervous as I am one of the youngest there-so many people older than me and there are many people who I do not want to join (but obviously I cannot prevent that).

    How should I overcome fears and be confident- my confidence is improving and I need to boost it up a lot more and I am hoping this will help.

    Also, I am advertising posters advertising this for students to sign up [in the office] - how can I make an effective poster?

    Thank you very much for your time and help

  • Question about dying dark hair?

    Is this enough of a gap to dye hair?

    I died my hair 3 months ago and I really want to dye it now. When I did dye my hair, the colour did not even dye my hair it actually sat on my hair-is this because my hair is too DARK (almost black) I tried to dye it but the colour kept washing out (even after 2 weeks!) I don't wash my hair a lot but it took about 6 washes until the colour ran.

    So is this enough of a gap for my hair to be died? I heard that hair can turn ginger ?!?! is that true?!

    **Also, I want to know if my hair would be dyed properly because my hair is so dark, I want a cinnamon or caramel colour, will it work? Because last time, chocolate brown didn't work :/

    Thank you ! :) x

  • Contextual Influences? Please help me with this english lit. question!?

    I have an English assignment on a poem (Soeur Louise de la Misericorde) and I really need help with question:

    "Some critics argue that it is essential to understand a poem's author to appreciate the poem.

    Using your knowledge of how CONTEXTUAL INFLUENCES can shape a poet's thoughts and feelings, discuss the poet's choice of PROTAGONISTS and SUBJECT MATTER."

    (10 marks= Demonstrate understanding of the significance and influence of the contexts in which literary texts are written)

    I really don't understand it therefore I don't know how to answer it

    It's due tomorrow please help! thanks

  • What does this poem mean? I don't understand any of it, please help!?

    I can't even look for imagery, sound devices or even know the theme because I just don't understand it!! :( Thank you

    Soeur Louise de la Misericorde (1674)

    I have desired, and I have been desired;

    But now the days are over of desire,

    Now dust and dying embers mock my fire;

    Where is the hire for which my life was hired?

    Oh vanity of vanities, desire!

    Longing and love, pangs of a perished pleasure,

    Longing and love, a disenkindled fire,

    And memory a bottomless gulf of mire,

    And love a fount of tears outrunning measure;

    Oh vanity of vanities, desire!

    Now from my heart, love’s deathbed, trickles, trickles,

    Drop by drop slowly, drop by drop of fire,

    The dross of life, of love, of spent desire;

    Alas, my rose of life gone all to prickles,—

    Oh vanity of vanities, desire!

    Oh vanity of vanities, desire;

    Stunting my hope which might have strained up higher,

    Turning my garden-plot to barren mire;

    Oh death-struck love, oh disenkindled fire,

    Oh vanity of vanities, desire!

    (mire: mud)

    I have to answer a lot of questions part of my assignments and I have no idea about this :S are there even any sound devices? Or imagery?

    Thank you kind people

  • Why are people Congratulating me?

    I got my GCSE results and I was very disappointed with them and I did much worse than I thought and it was absolute poop compared to my sister (straight A student).

    But my family are calling me and congratulating me for CRAP. I don't like it. I don't want to seem like a miserable ungrateful person but my whole family is fake and they are saying things they don't mean.

    I cried and cried because of my results and I don't want to be reminded of them. Why are they doing this to me and how do I get over it?

  • Wanting to dye dark hair...help?!?

    I am 16 and my hair is really dark brown-almost black and I want my hair lighter, preferably a chestnut or chocolate brown.

    I bought a box dye of chocolate brownie and dyed my hair at the beginning of the week and it has not made a difference-I can only see it in bright light but it is more like a 'tint'.

    I was thinking of going to get another colour but someone told me I would have to bleach my hair. So I have 2 questions.

    1. Would I have to bleach my hair [from a salon] just to lighten it?

    2. Is it okay to dye my hair again after 4 days of dying it?

    Thank you
