Question about dying dark hair?

Is this enough of a gap to dye hair?

I died my hair 3 months ago and I really want to dye it now. When I did dye my hair, the colour did not even dye my hair it actually sat on my hair-is this because my hair is too DARK (almost black) I tried to dye it but the colour kept washing out (even after 2 weeks!) I don't wash my hair a lot but it took about 6 washes until the colour ran.

So is this enough of a gap for my hair to be died? I heard that hair can turn ginger ?!?! is that true?!

**Also, I want to know if my hair would be dyed properly because my hair is so dark, I want a cinnamon or caramel colour, will it work? Because last time, chocolate brown didn't work :/

Thank you ! :) x

Ive dyed my own hair plenty of times... From my experience, your hair will turn ginger if you use the color stripper... If you want to strip your color and put in another color, I would suggest not doing that. I did it and it turns your hair orange and when you attempt to put another color over it, it just doesnt work.

My honest advice to you would be to go to a professional and get highlights. Its going to be really hard getting that black out (it was for me too when I had it for 6 months). Once that black is in, its pretty much set to stay in there until all your hair grows out. Especially if you put color in more than once.

Try going to a professional and get a lot of caramel colour highlights, it will actually look really good and you wont have to go through all the hair color stripping... You can do that with a professional too but usually your hair will turn orangish within 3 weeks of doing it, because the color will be absorbing a lot of different things that were put in.

But yeah you are fine to color it now, ive waited once only 2 weeks to color it again. :/ eek. and it was just fine! all hair is dead anyway!

    good luck :)

If your hair is almost black, you have no chance of getting it to a caramel colour, you will either have to strip your hair yourself, this will turn it GINGER since you are already black! and then dye it with the dye you want, this can be really damaging, you could also take your time and build it up in highlights with a highlight kit, then once your light enough dye over the highlights with a caramel colour.

I would say if you can afford it go to a salon as you will get the best results, hope your hair turns out okay :)

thats easy to fix! because your hair is so dark, colour wont show up on it. you could get it done at the salon, but that would be really expensive.

What i did to get my hair a light colour (my hairs naturally black too) is firstly bleach all your hair. (it doesnt matter if it turns ginger, it will be covered up) then put the colour you want on top of it. Because your hair is lighter from the bleach, the colour will show up. then conditon really well.

it is damaging, but as long as your not bleaching your hair a loads (ivbleached mine 15 times in the past 6 months and still have hair, its just very damaged) you should be fine!

    good luck xx

Ya it's been a long enough period of time bit because u have suck dark hair the color doesn't show. Or if u have recently put herbs in it the henna might be rejecting the color. Maybe if u bleach your hair then do the color u want it might work but it's extremely bad f0r your hair!!!

attempt a non everlasting dye first of all of the colour which you like, that way it washes out after 3-6 washes and you nonetheless get a stable thought of whether or no longer it is going to journey you. purely bear in mind nonetheless that to flow decrease back to blonde isn't that basic you will the two would desire to placed up with undesirable roots till the colour fades out that's definately no longer a stable seem or you should get your hair stripped yet this is extremely harsh on your hair and costs a lot. think of roughly it first and if your nonetheless insistent which you incredibly desire to flow darkish then do. yet bear in mind blondes have much extra exciting!
