yes. actually i have lived in a cob/mud house. they are very sturdy and keep cool even on hot days

I would not choose to live in a mud house if I had the opportunity to live in a "normal" house. But, if I lived in some third world country where it was the norm, I'd be perfectly fine with it. I would feel disgusting living in mud if nobody near me lived in a mud house, I would feel unsanitary. If everyone else did, I wouldn't mind.

In desert areas, they are very practical. Arizona has its adobe bricks and I've seen mud-brick houses (Yemen) that have lasted thousands of years in half-way decent condition. Even the roofs of more modern houses are mud-covered but they require periodic maintenance. Miss a year and you get the ceiling falling when it rains.

If I lived in a drier climate then I would. However, even in wetter climates, some mud houses stand up really well, but I would expect a damper interior.

If I had no where else to go I would live in one, but I would prefer in live in a brick house.
