Can you name 5 things this week you have bought and don't really need?
Whilst most reading this section of yahoo answers are probably fairly enviro wise have you bought stuff in the last week that you didn't really need which has then contributed to emisisons. For example that dress you bought might have been shipped from china, where it was manufacturerd from syntehtic fabrics, which has used oil, and degraded the environment in the locality of their production. I will name some I have bought -
1- Guide book for cycling holiday I'll never go on.
2 - Part for cycle that I could have done without.
3 - Petrol for chanisaw when I could have used a hand saw.
4 - Diesel for car when I could have cycled
5 - Bottle of wine for friday evening.

3 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoWhat is a good jack for jacking rods out of the ground?
I have some soil sampling gear which involves bashing a hollow tube in to the ground. You them have to pull it out again, if you use one jack, then generally the jack will start to lean over due to uneven load. Very expensive purpose made jacks fit over the drive rod, and give a centalsied pull. These jacks are expensive though. Does anyone have an idea for a chepaer alternative. . . . no I don't want to pull them out with my teeth. Yawn.

2 AnswersVolkswagen1 decade agoIf I remove the rear axles, diff, + drive shaft from my Renault Kangoo Trekka (4x4), will I save fuel? How Muc?
Car is front wheel drive, has a viscous coupling to "kick " rear wheel in on slippy surfaces, never use car off road, so want to limit darg from all the extra bearings, and remove said bits. Will it make a difference to fuel consumption? Currently get about 40mpg, but drive a lot of miles, want to make it better.
