is your bucket list empty? c/c?

When time requires surrender of the clock

I will not rue the shorter stroke of fate

Though some may wish those hands to never stop

I have not wasted time before the date

Though destiny may find I'm running late

It's certain that he'll find me at that gate

And certain, too, that i enjoyed the walk

    My bucket list in on a shelf

    for that is where I've put myself

    afloat in scattered clouds of dust

    minding not the taste of rust

    this time is letting contents settle

    still knowing I am worth my mettle

    mislaid the plans of woman and man

    sometimes the place is where I stand

    or sit

    dodging falling pecans

    and I think an ant just crawled under my 'n' key

    sigh...I may want...This, but sometimes That holds more in store

    I'm currently reading my way through Radcliffe Publishing's 100 Greatest Novels of the 20th Century, so you could say it's on my bucket list to finish that list. Although, I admit, even though I'm reading lots of books that aren't on that list, I'd be surprised if I didn't finish it within the next five or ten years. Ones that aren't on there, though.... What only really comes to mind is: I'd like to read all of Shakespeare's plays and all of Sherlock Holmes, as I've only read a few of each as of now.

    Mortality has no clock, just statistics. Do you know the fate of a date that is late? Good, that means you are probably on time, something St Peter will note! As to walking in the end though, I was rather opting for that cloudy escalator... some movie I saw once!

    Hi. wonderful poem with a great message, my bucket list is Not quite done, as in know I work with school aged children, my work of parenting has finished for right now however. I find joy and contentment in writing poems, reading the word, chatting , spending quality time with my family , friends. And with my lovely grand kids. This is a poignant piece of writing.

    You are the only sin I am not ashamed to admit gives me great pleasure. I am desperately trying to finish raising my youngest - still 2 years left of high school and a struggling student. I'm afraid my bucket is only there to soak my feet now and then (I had to think about that for a bit and that's all I could come up with:) Love your poem.

    My bucket list still has things on it, but none I'll miss if I do miss crossing them off.

    Good write this is Sin, and as others say, Powerful, a subject not often talked about but hopeful as well

    I also walk through fields wrought with time's tracks;

    I keep my eyes ahead, I will not look back,

    for I know that what I left behind will stand

    to show future pathfinders that I built it all by hand.

    If we by chance meet along the way,

    I will rejoice to look at you and say

    that you were part of everything I've made last;

    you took me in your wings, no more an outcast.

    I love you, Sinny. You made a difference, more than you know.

    So nice to read something joyful about a subject that is feared by most! I agree whole heartedly and feel genuinely sorry for so many depressed folks who write on this site. Second line says it all for me.

    According to dear Liza....there's a hole in my bucket. I always find something else I wish I'd done, but have done most I wish I had. ;¬)
