What IS an airsoft gun?

They are "guns" that fire plastic bb's that usually weight .20 or .25g. They are 6mm and some are even 8mm. They rarely shoot over 500fps most being no more than 400fps. It's a sport and is not just played by kids, many adults and even military and police forces use them for training over paintball because they are more realistic. Although they can be classed as toys that can also shoot at speeds that class them as air weapons. They usually shoot no further than 200feet.

It is a cheaply made piece of garbage that is designed to satisfy the dreams of children who want to own guns when they grow up.

They are guns that use air power to shoot a small plastic BB (.177 Caliber) They are usually under 800 FPS and are designed to be non-lethal. They are essentially toy guns.

A step up you get Pellet guns, a cross between the BB gun and real firearms. Pellet guns are also air propelled and usually designed for small game control. They can kill with a well placed shot.

And then we get Firearms, weapons that use a fast burning propellent to shoot a bullet out of a barrel and into either people or animals.

They are toys kids shoot each other with. They come in plastic and some of the higher powered ones can break skin but they are 500 dollars + each. Id rather go buy a 22 and shoot each other

They are toy guns that shoot 6mm plastic bb's.

13 year old kids shoot each other with them for fun.
