Do you think the Democratic party will go with Obama or not?

Please, no anti Obama, anti Republican or anti Democrat answers to this. Those will be ignored and thumbed down.

While talking with some friends about the pending election (2012) we came to the question of whether or not the Democratic party will try to elect Obama again in 2012 or not. One of my friends stated that he felt (he is a democrat himself) that the party would not seek to re-elect Obama, but would likely go with another member of the party. Equating the election to something similar that happened with Johnson who did not get his own party's nomination for election.

Taking all things into consideration, from performance to the popularity polls, what would you think the answer is? Do you think the Democratic party will nominate Obama for election in 2012, or do you think they will seek someone else within the party? Please explain your reasoning for your answer. Thank you.

Update:

Before anyone tells me to do my homework, I'm 35. Not in school. As it is I'd like to see a bit of more than simple three word answers here. The best answer will be picked from ones that are the "best" answers. Not any less. So I'd like to see something more than just asinine comments and a thought out reasoned answer.

Since the advent of the primary system, no president has been refused renomination by his party.

Before that I believe a number of presidents were not renominated, but except for Andrew Johnson I am under the impression that none of those fought for it and lost -- they just sort of withdrew in response to overwhelming opposition. I could be wrong, though, you should research it.

The soft "left" folks who support the Democratic Party may be feeling betrayed by their corporate liberal officials (and rightly so), but the capitalist liberals don't allow them much power in "their" party, anyway. They wouldn't be able to stop Obama.

Unless he suffers a massive public relations disaster or personal problem, the corporates will renominate Obama.

And unless the entire economy plunges suddenly down the tubes, rather than just continuing the slow slide we've been suffering for decades, or unless the Afghan, Libyan or Iraqi resistance fighters make serious military gains against the U.S./NATO, he will beat any corporate competitor from the other political cartel.

The corporates will stick with him if he looks like a winner. And the soft "left" that usually supports the Democrats has already bought in to the ridiculous "lesser of two evils" philosophy -- so who are they going to vote for, the Republicans?

My guess, from a horse-race point of view, is Obama by a solid but small margin.

My personal preference would be Marsha Feinland of the California Peace & Freedom Party -- the only PRO gun rights, anti-war, pro-women's rights, pro-gay, and pro-labor party on the ballot.

His plan is a sham, however the democratic social gathering grow to be divided whilst Obama and Hillary went up against one yet another. the sole reason she lost grow to be because of the fact of that categorical somebody she fired on the top of her marketing campaign. If she had accomplished that faster, we does no longer be listening to Obama's incorrect conceptions. he's in his own little international. yet, for the 1st time in a protracted time, in all probability ever, the people chosen the flesh presser it is why the politicians are scrambling to represent the voice of maximum folk. it is so uncommon it is superb. Politicians are meant to have the skill to %. who they choose to play with, yet it isn't any longer the case. each and every physique is like, "Do it now, in the different case." i does no longer be too thinking Obama's errors. He knows he grow to be chosen, no longer any incorrect way around, and if he messes this up then he won't be re-elected. The Libertarian social gathering will in all probability be the Democrat's splendid contender, and in the event that they are no longer careful then the two events would be a minority.

He will be selected again, he will run again, and he will win by a landslide again.

He is a shoe in and that is why he will be picked to run again.
