Why don't we invade north-korea?

I mean, NK is suppressing the freedom and knowledge of it's people. It has taken technology, and culture from them. it's like WWII, but the germans have won.

it's even putting propaganda into the heads of it's citizens ( You know the ones, where america is all bad, and how you hair shouldn't be longer than 5-CM )

Why don't we invade North-Korea and be like; the outside world isn't that bad, we give you knowledge and freedom.

What you have said is right - North Korea is suppressing the freedom to learn and express oneself from its citizens; due to its firm and stubborn dictatorship, the technology in North Korea is seldom improving, and the economy and daily lives of citizens are collapsing day by day.

Still, invading North Korea is difficult - even impossible. Perhaps you have heard about concentration camps and forced labor camps in North Korea. Now, guess what will happen if the United States or South Korea invades North Korea. The soldiers that they will be fighting against would be armed civilians - forced to war, fighting under starving (yes, literally starving) conditions. A war or an invasion against North Korea would require tons of lives not only of the United States or of the South Korea, but also of North Korea. In the worst case, the North Korean government may even hold its own citizens as hostages, holding numerous lives in their own hands. Invading North Korea will mean risking thousands of innocent civilians' lives, and other countries would never approve it. After all, the United States had been a world hegemony since the World War II. If invading North Korea was so easy, why wouldn't America have done it before?

The propaganda and the brainwashing of North Korea can be impelled even without a war or an invasion. While the countries around the world are yet desperately finding a nonviolent solution to the North Korean problem, the situation in North Korea is improving bit by bit. A recent interview with North Korean escapees showed that more and more North Koreans are being exposed to outside information by secretly modified radios and televisions. The minds of North Koreans are changing, viewing South Korea as a land of money and freedom, and knowing that the outside world isn't bad, containing information and freedom. After all, that's why so many of North Koreans escape.

Hopefully, after some time, the world might be able to find a way to free North Koreans' minds. The world just might find a way to pass the 'truth' , the unbiased information, to the majority of North Koreans. Once their minds are free, the revolution and the freedom of body will follow naturally. As people say, the strongest oppression is that which oppresses the mind.

It's nice to see that people like you are worried about North Korea and trying to find a way to free North Koreans from their hardships and terrible conditions. However, a war or an invation would not be a permanent solution, since it will risk the lives of thousands of North Koreans, and an anti-world North Korean faction is likely to break out immediately after the war. The world is trying to find a nonviolent, peaceful way to lift the burden from North Koreans. The change in perception and the mind must come before the freedom of body and state.

The current situation with North Korea is good that those 22 million people who live there hate all western and ready to go to war with the Western countries on the first order of the Kim clan. But the Kims are not fools and not a suicide and are well aware that the war with the West - this is the end of their regime. So they tell stories to his people about the poor west and at the same time keeping a tight rein on 22 million fanatics who are ready to go tomorrow to kill capitalists. Imagine that tomorrow the US toppled Kims. The people of North Korea Kims and now worship and after the overthrow of them ascribe area martyrs. Imagine 22 million fanatics who are going to take revenge for their leaders?

its hard to picture it to happen that way..,. Althought its a Reality check when some of the innocent are sent to the CAMPs for HARD LABOR then they realize That Freedom isnt' all that free in north korea and that is why they want to technically escape...But the ones who has been Brainwashed into Hating us and worshipping their So Called Dear LEADer they believe that they will seek fortune and get all these things for doing what they are ask or to please their leader.....But do the leader care? HELL NO he is just on trips drinking conyak and looking at things he can't afford....What is really going to be different is when his son takes over and when his DAD dies....how is he actually going to handle the pressure then?

When his son came into the picture he was made into GENERAL. like WHat skills does he own apparently NOTHING but the teachings of his lame father.....I feel sorry only for the people who know how their country is really is...The ones that worship that Lame monkey and call burn in H3LL

The folks with the power have no interest in doing so. As long as there is no economic interest and all they are doing is is trying to show off then no one really cares. Your point of view is somewhat admirable to me. It would cost so much and those people are propagandized to the point that we couldn't do it and expect the people to welcome it especially when it cost them their lives. We have plenty of propaganda and bs to deal with here any way. Let's clean that up.

Well here is what I could come up with.

    1. NK has no oil.

    2. The country is a solid ally of China.

    3. No one really cares.

We are not the world's police. It really isn't our business and we should focus on our own issues.

    They have nuclear weapons.

    They have a huge military.

They have a really huge arsenal pointed directly at South Korea and Japan, which would be launched at the merest whiff of an invasion.

The US cannot afford another war.

The US doesn't have the troops needed - it would require a draft.

The US cannot afford to police another country and rebuild it.

    NK doesn't have any oil.

We found out after WW2 that Koreans are very good soldiers.

NK citizens like their government just fine.

All in all, we likely would lose, and it's not worth the effort to find out.
