Once the green husk is removed the walnuts can be sold if there is a market in your area. Despite what others are telling you Black Walnuts are, indeed, edible.
For te trees to be marketable they need to be large, straight and have few lower limbs. Most companies that buy them want to look at the tree while it is still standing and, if purchased, will send their own crew to cut the tree. They will also remove all limbs, the stump, as many roots as possible and, in some instances, will plant another tree in its place.
Good luck and enjoy!

Someone was selling theirs on Ebay for 50 cents each two years ago. Don't know how many they sold because of having my own to pick up. Each year I dump a trashcan full of them in a nearby park for the squirrels to enjoy. Don't want any more growing near my gardens!

They're not edible? Ariaread? I've been eating them for years. They are very edible. They sell shelled ones online for $15/lb. for human consumption. Don't post information if you don't know what you're talking about.

No they are not edible. It is the Trees themselves that are of value. Call in a timber company and ask what the wood is worth
